The Museum Of Nicholas II's Family In Tobolsk
2719 wyświetleń 16 maj 2022 The Museum of the Family of Emperor Nicholas II is part of the Tobolsk Museum-Reserve complex. It was opened recently, in 2018, but has already managed to gain popularity. Specialists restored the decorations of the rooms from photographs and documents of that time. They carefully preserved what is possible.The building in which the museum is located is called the Governor's House - at the end of the 20th century, it was the residence of the Governor-General. Members of the Romanov family often visited this house, traveling through Siberian open spaces. It is known that Tsesarevich Alexander Nikolaevich and the Grand Dukes Vladimir and Alexander visited the residence. After the February Revolution, the mansion was empty, and in August 1917, the Governor's House became the place of confinement of the family of Nicholas II.

78 088 wyświetleń 23 maj 2018 With all likelihood this is a recording of the Russian emperor Alexander III (1845-1894) and his wife, Maria Feodorovna (1847-1928), recorded c. 1891 on a visit to Denmark.

The couple attended several demonstrations of Edison's phonograph, at least once in 1889 at the royal palace in Fredensborg, the home of Maria Feodorovna's father, Christian IX of Denmark, and probably also at one of their visits in 1891, 1892 or 1893.

The recording is part of the Ruben Collection at the Royal Library in Copenhagen, containing Danish phonograph recordings made 1889-1897. Sadly no documentation about the identity of the voices or the circumstance of the recording has survived.

The recording starts with a greeting in Russian by a woman (Maria Feodorovna?).
Then a man, probably Alexander III, sings a Russian soldier's song.
Lastly, the woman speaks in Danish: Det morer mig meget at høre min mands stemme ("It is very amusing to hear the voice of my husband").
